Abstract
A representative should only represent his/her constituents, not a party. Multiple [run off] elections could be held so that an individual could gain a majority. The party forming the government should always have 50% of the vote. [1 page]

I truly wish to see a truly democratic system installed in Canada that would require that an individual needs at least fifty percent of the vote, plus one, in order to represent a constituency. A representative should only represent his/her constituents, not a party, or any other group or organization. Representatives could elect a government. Multiple [run off] elections could be required so that an individual could gain a majority.

The matter of any party forming the government, without fifty percent of the vote, seems absurd.

I further more also believe that a party and a candidate, or an elected official, should not be able to accept donations from anyone but one of their constituents, not from an organization, or a body corporate, and all donations should be severely limited in amount.
